Resolutions

You had the wedding to remember. It was the one of a lifetime for you and your spouse.  Years have gone by since your big day.  Now, a new year has come and you are making the usual resolutions.

1. Lose 20 pounds
2. Take better care of yourself
3. Get out of debt
4. blah, blah, blah

All of those are fine, however, how many people resolve to make their marriage even better?  We get so wrapped up in day-to-day tasks that we forget about putting our spouses first.  We should resolve the following:

1. Better communication
2. Spend more quality time together
3. Before any decision, think about how the other person would feel

It is my firm belief that there would more happy marriages and fewer divorces if couple lived by the actions listed above. Marriage requires a committment like no other relationship.  It should not be taken lightly or gone into misinformed or on a whim.

Getting Married? Do You Need a Wedding Coordinator?

Getting engaged is such a happy time.  It is the beginning of one of the most stressful but exciting times of your life. You will have lots of people volunteering to help and rendering all types of services. Aunt Mary and your mom, and perhaps your soon to be mother-in-law will have some very good ideas for YOUR wedding.

Whether the length of your engagement is six months or one year,  take the advice that is given to you and digest it.  Learn what information to keep and what nonsense to ignore.  A coordinator can help with that.  Most times, your wedding coordinator is not a relative and can be used as a good resource to bounce ideas off of and vent to.

It is okay for your mom to help you with all of your plans, just remember, your mom can't get you down the aisle.  She would have already walked down ahead of you.  A coordinator can help with that.  When selecting a wedding coordinator, find someone that can control the various personalities that will be start swirling closer to the big day.  Also, this person should be very resourceful and have a number of vendors readily accessible should you have to go to plan "B".

You don't have to break the bank when hiring a wedding coordinator.  It is a cost that you should include in your budget.  Just know, the important part of the bride/coordinator relationship is communication.
